A Valentina Rivera Madrid bag is made to last for years. With a few simple habits, genuine leather retains its character and vegan leather keeps its impeccable finish.

Daily Cleaning
Wipe the surface with a dry white cotton cloth. This is enough for everyday dust and light marks. Avoid paper tissues, as they can leave fibres on the leather.
Water and Rain
If your bag gets wet, gently blot the surface with a soft cloth and allow it to dry naturally at room temperature, away from sunlight and heat sources. Never use a hairdryer or place it near a radiator, as sudden heat can cause the leather to crack or warp.
Conditioning
Genuine leather benefits from conditioning two to three times a year using a product formulated for smooth leather. Before applying, test on a small, discreet area, as some conditioners may slightly deepen the colour. Apply in gentle circular motions and allow it to absorb fully before use.
Storage
Store your bag in the cotton dust bag included with your order, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. To help it retain its shape, stuff it lightly with acid-free tissue paper. Avoid stacking bags on top of each other or hanging them by the straps for extended periods.
Vegan Leather Care

Daily Cleaning
Clean with a soft cloth lightly dampened with water. For more stubborn marks, a small amount of mild pH-neutral soap can be used. Rinse immediately with a clean damp cloth and pat dry. Do not use leather creams, oils, or conditioners on vegan leather, as they will not absorb and may leave marks.
Water and Stains
Dry any moisture immediately with a soft cloth. While the material resists light splashes, avoid prolonged exposure to water or humidity, as this can affect the surface finish over time.
Heat and Sunlight
Vegan leather is more sensitive to heat than genuine leather. Keep it away from direct sunlight, car dashboards, radiators, and any source of sustained heat, which can cause the surface to warp or fade.
Storage
Store flat or in its original dust bag, in a cool, dry place. Avoid folding, stacking, or placing heavy objects on top. Do not hang by the straps for long periods.
General Tips for All Bags
- Avoid overloading. Excess weight strains the handles and distorts the structure over time.
- Keep cosmetics separate. Store perfumes and liquid products in a pouch inside the bag to protect the lining.
- Limit direct sun exposure. Prolonged UV exposure fades colour and dries out both leather and vegan leather.
- Give each bag its space. Avoid stacking or compressing bags against each other in storage.
- Wipe regularly. A quick pass with a dry cloth after each use goes a long way.
